The Maker
A Lifetime of Making
"I have always been a problem solver and a creator. This is simply the next thing I have made."
Janus Sinclair was born from a life spent making — from custom knitwear sold in boutiques, to machine embroidery at mall kiosks, to a hard-won mastery of tailoring that began with a YouTube video and an old sewing machine given by a friend.
After nearly fifteen years away, the founder returned to craft at 63, driven by a love of everything plaid, and a deeply held belief: that everyone can look extraordinary when they wear something made just for them.
Three years of study. Kilt after kilt. Sourcing fabric, studying historical construction, refining technique. What emerged was a kilt unlike any other — part Scottish heritage, part couture atelier, entirely Janus Sinclair.
